Quzhou Introduction

Quzhou is located at the headstream of Qiantang River in the western part of Zhejiang province. It connects Hangzhou City, Jinhua City and Lishui City within the province in the east, links with Nanping City of Fujian province in the south, neighbors Shangrao City and Jingdezhen City of Jiangxi province in the west, and meets Huangshan City of Anhui province in the north. It administers three counties-- Longyou, Changshan and Kaihua, two districts-- Kecheng and Qujiang, and one city--Jiangshan. It has a total population of 2.45 million and a territory of 8,841 square kilometers. Quzhou is a state-level historical and cultural celebrated city, with a history of more than 1,800 years. In the 3rd year (A.D. 192) of Emperor Chu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was established as Xin’an County, and this was the first foundation of Quzhou city.
