Introduction
The Chi’an villiage is 5 km away from the northeast of Xiapu county, it was o­nce an important port in ancient time. It acquired the name because  of the red stones o­n its seashore.Chi'an is the place where Japanese Kobo-Daishi landed when he entered China in the Tang Dynasty to seek for Buddhist doctrines. Kobo-Daishi met with a mishap at sea and was rescued at this place, which, therefore, is praised by Japanese believers of Shingon as "holy land where Kukai suffered from shipwreck and landed". Every year lots of Japanese Shingon's believers come here for pilgrimage, so do tourists at home.
Bearing a subtropical monsoon climate, its weather is temperate and humid. The annual average temperature remains around 19 C. March to June is the plum rain period, and July to September is the season of typhoon and thunder storm. This period gathers about eighty percent of a year's rainfall. The best time to visit there is April to December .

Chi'an Village has a deep and broad traditional culture, where old streets, old roads and monuments can befound. The Song Dynasty's Confucian Zhu Xi and other notable Confucians have stayed here. At Chi'an ancient castles, old official roads, old wells are here and there with a strong sense of old rhythm, and historical traces can be found  here . As a painting attracting people. human cultural resources of Chi'an Village are so famous and of great historic and cultural value, and it is a religious cultural tourist area combining travel, holiday-spending, spending summer vacation ,and entertainment as o­ne. Chi'an is 2 kilometers away from the town proper, having an outstanding regional superiority.
